PVC cover material is made from high-strength polyester yarn fabric as the base material and coated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) paste resin, which is plasticized at high temperatures to form a durable, flexible composite material. It offers excellent waterproof, mildew-resistant, cold-resistant, aging-resistant, and anti-static properties, making it suitable for a wide range of covering and protection applications.
Applications
Transportation Tarpaulins
Used as cargo cover material for trucks, trains, and ships, providing reliable protection against rain, moisture, and other outdoor conditions.
Outdoor Storage Covers
Suitable for covering stored goods in open-air warehouses at railway stations, docks, seaports, and airports.
Agricultural Covers
Can be used to construct temporary grain storage facilities and provide outdoor covering for various agricultural crops.
Temporary Construction Structures
Suitable for building temporary shelters, work sheds, and storage warehouses at construction sites and other work sites.
Protective Machine Covers
Can be custom-fabricated into protective covers for machinery and equipment according to their dimensions and specific requirements.

Anhui Kingtex Material Technology Co., Ltd. is a China PVC Cover Material Manufacturer and custom PVC cover material factory. We produce PVC-coated tarpaulin from high-strength polyester yarn fabric, coated with PVC paste resin and plasticized at high temperature into a flexible composite with waterproof, mildew-resistant, cold-resistant, aging-resistant and anti-static properties. The range covers transport tarpaulins, outdoor storage covers, agricultural protection, temporary construction structures and custom protective machine covers.
All grades are manufactured in our own facility using 100% polyester base cloth and double-sided PVC coating. The complete PVC cover material line is available in weights from 550 to 750 g/m², with maximum width up to 3.2 m.
Three standard grades make up the PVC cover line. All are based on 100% polyester and coated on both sides. The table below compares the measured performance of each grade and the type of job it fits.
| Grade | Total Weight | Construction | Tensile Strength N/5cm (Warp/Weft) | Tear Strength N/5cm (Warp/Weft) | Adhesion | Typical Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heavy-Duty PVC Coated Tarpaulin 550gsm Lightweight | 550 g/m² | 18 x 18 plain weave, 1000D x 1000D | 3100 / 2600 | 380 / 320 | 90 N/5cm | Truck covers, cargo tarps, temporary shelters, event canopies |
| Abrasion-Resistant PVC Coated Tarpaulin 650gsm Medium Weight | 650 g/m² | 20 x 20 plain weave, 1000D x 1000D | 2800 / 2300 | 300 / 250 | 100 N/5cm | Medium-duty truck tarpaulins, yard covers, construction dust and rain sheets |
| Industrial Heavy-Duty PVC Coated Tarpaulin 750gsm Extra Thick | 750 g/m² | 23 x 23 plain weave, 1000D x 1000D | 3300 / 2800 | 320 / 250 | 100 N/5cm | Truck and container tarpaulins, tank covers, infrastructure sheeting |
The polyester support cloth uses 1000D x 1000D yarn in all three grades. Weave density is the main structural difference between them: 18 x 18 for the 550gsm grade, 20 x 20 for the 650gsm grade and 23 x 23 for the 750gsm grade. The denser 750gsm construction delivers the highest tensile strength in the series, while the 650gsm grade balances medium weight with a dense weave for abrasion resistance. The 550gsm grade keeps handling weight low without sacrificing dimensional stability.
All grades are PVC coated on both sides, which provides reliable waterproofing and protects the polyester base from moisture, mildew and UV exposure. Maximum width of 3.2 m reduces the number of seams required on large covers and improves the integrity of the finished panel.
PVC cover material is rarely a standard rectangle, so we base the configuration on the physical area to be covered, the required width and the number of panels. Widths up to 3.2 m help minimize joins on large surfaces. We confirm the correct grade once we know the loading, weather exposure and perimeter fixing method. For equipment covers, we work from the machine dimensions and access requirements to prepare the panel layout and edge treatment for quotation.
Quality control runs from raw material intake through final shipment. Our production lines include PVC cold lamination, hot lamination and coating, supported by a full set of testing and inspection instruments. The parameters in the range table are measured using the listed DIN and ASTM methods, so the data can be checked against the same standards used for the product specification. This is the basis on which we confirm grade, width and performance for a project.
To prepare an accurate configuration and quotation, we use the following project inputs:
The grades differ in total weight and weave density. The 550gsm grade is easier to handle and suits truck covers and lightweight shelters. The 650gsm grade adds a denser 20 x 20 weave and higher adhesion for abrasion-resistant medium-duty work. The 750gsm grade uses a 23 x 23 weave and delivers the highest tensile strength in the series for heavy-load and infrastructure environments.
Yes. All three grades are available up to 3.2 m in width, which helps reduce seams on large covers. We confirm the exact width and cut plan in the order specification.
We use DIN EN ISO 2286-1/2 for width and weight, DIN EN 1049-2 for weave, DIN 53354 and DIN 53356 for tensile and tear strength, and ASTM D751 for adhesion. The measured values shown in the range table are generated under these methods.
Yes. PVC cover material can be custom-fabricated into protective covers for machinery and equipment according to the dimensions and specific requirements. Send the equipment size, access points and fixing method, and we will include the panel layout and edge treatment in the proposal.
Tell us the load, weather exposure, cover size and whether the cover will be handled frequently. These factors determine whether the 550gsm, 650gsm or 750gsm grade should be specified. We use that information to prepare the configuration and quotation.
